What is Run Across UK

Run Across UK is a national charity challenge in support of the Down's Syndrome Association.

Over the weekend of 20–22 March 2026, teams across the UK will be running, walking and cycling a relay route from John O'Groats to Land's End — a journey of around 1,000 miles.

The weekend coincides with World Down Syndrome Day on 21 March, making it a powerful moment to come together and raise awareness and funds.

As part of this national event, Running Punks will be taking on two legs around Bristol and the Mendips.

Our route starts at St Andrew's Park, Bristol and finishes at St Leonard's Church, Shipham.

To make the day as accessible as possible to runners and non-runners alike, we're offering 1 mile, 5k, 10k, half marathon and 50k ultra distance options.

Why Running Punks are taking on the challenge

We run with Running Punks, and we have a habit of taking on long, slightly daft distances. When the idea of Run Across UK came up, it felt like the right kind of challenge to put towards a good cause.

That cause is personal. Tim's daughter, Laurie, is 13 and in Year 9 at Whitchurch High School. She also has Down's Syndrome. Like many families, we see every day how important the right support, understanding and opportunities are, both for our kids and for the people around them.

This run is about raising money for the Down's Syndrome Association, but it's also about showing up, doing something difficult together, and turning a lot of small efforts into something that actually helps.
